• Born and raised on a dairy farm in northern Wisconsin. 
• B.S. (mathematics, 1987), M.S. (mathematics/statistics, 1992), and Ph.D. (forest science/biometrics, 1997) from Michigan Technological University (MTU) , Houghton, MI.  
• Employed as Statistician with NRCS since 2000.  
• Previous positions included:
•     Research Forester, USDA Forest Service NCRS, St. Paul, MN
•     Research Assistant, School of Forestry and Wood Products, MTU
•     Instructor, Department of Mathematical Sciences, MTU
•     Adjunct Faculty, Mathematics, Finlandia University (formerly Suomi College), Hancock, MI.
